Research across higher education consistently demonstrates that lectures paired with active learning make a difference when it comes to improving student success. So let’s focus on how we can revitalize our instruction by pairing mini-lectures with active learning strategies to better engage students.

In this interactive workshop, you will learn the elements of an effective mini-lecture, how to know when to stop lecturing, and the key components of engaged learning strategies. Together, we’ll explore proven techniques that will have an immediate impact on sustaining student attention and increasing mastery of your course content.

Todd Zakrajsek, Ph.D. is the author of the successful book “Dynamic Lecturing”, and advises faculty on how to create a motivating, creative and engaging classroom community. He is an international speaker who is requested regularly for keynote presentations and campus workshops, having published and presented widely on the topic of effective teaching and student learning.
