Is it Team-Based Learning or a Flipped Classroom?

(For several ISU faculty and their students, the answer is . . . "yes—both!")

Team-Based Learning (TBL) is an increasingly-popular form of flipped-classroom small-group learning that can be implemented effectively in small or large classes. TBL provides students with a small class feel even in large theater-style classrooms with fixed seats. TBL promotes high levels of student attendance, preparation, motivation, engagement, participation and critical thinking. Learn more about TBL at ISU.

Are you looking for a new classroom to inspire learning this semester? Have you often wished for a classroom with movable seats to accommodate how you teach? Do your students do collaborative work in class and need both individual and shared writing surfaces? If your answer is yes to any of these questions then we just might have the space you are looking for.
