CELT offers a mix of professional development programs throughout the academic year. CELT also offers specialized programs that provide participants with ways to engage deeper in a topic with the guidance of a program mentor. These specialized programs include:

CELT Teaching and Learning Academy

Participants address course design, evidence-based teaching strategies, inclusive classroom practices, peer-review of teaching, and teaching effectiveness.

CELT Teaching Partners Program

Supplement departmental mentoring by pairing with a senior instructor from a different discipline who is a successful and experienced teacher.

CELT Teaching Symposium

Participate in a program that encompasses the best teaching practices and student support resources available at Iowa State.

Active Learning Institute

Instructors have the opportunity to practice techniques and design strategies focused on active learning that can then be implemented in their courses.

Course Design Institute

A collaborative opportunity for
ISU instructors to build skills to design or substantially revise
their courses.

Engaged Faculty Institute on Service-Learning

Incorporate community work into

Quality Matters

Quality Matters (QM) is a faculty-centered, peer review process based on best practices to measure the quality of online and blended courses.

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Scholars Program

Investigate questions related to student learning, with the goal of improving your own classroom, as well as advancing practice.
