Karen Couves coordinates logistics for faculty, staff, and graduate student professional development programming including the award-winning seminar series, Miller Faculty Fellowship, and the annual CELT Teaching Symposium. She has developed the CELT Mindful and Contemplative Pedagogy series and is the CELT fiscal officer. Prior to CELT, Karen was an Administrative Specialist for two years with the School of Education.

Karen has been involved as a participant and small group leader for Cardinal Women* and co-facilitates the Cardinal Women* Alumni book club.  She is a member of the ISU Green Dot Action Month planning committee and a board member of the Be Rare Initiative.

Karen holds a B.A. in Psychology from McGill University and in spring 2018 earned her M.Ed in Higher Education with a concentration in Leadership and Learning from Iowa State University.
