Sneak Peek

New and Improved ISU Course Template

Coming this summer, the new and improved template has a mobile-friendly, accessible design. You can get a sneak peek now in a Canvas course not tied to student enrollment before its official release later this year.

Easy to use and to adapt, the ISU course template contains the fundamental components for a quality Canvas course. It is pre-loaded with a customizable homepage, syllabus, and “start here” module that includes all the necessary information encouraging student success. The syllabus page contains required (not editable) and recommended (editable) ISU syllabus statements. Also included is a module overview that guides students in what they are about to learn, as well as the scope of work and expected time commitment. Finally, the new course template has “editor-only instructions” and “key action items” that provide instructors with the links and resources to create quality content.

To begin, request a new course shell and check the box “create from the ISU course template.” You can also visit CELT's Instructional Design Bookings page for assistance getting started using the template. Look for additional information and training opportunities later this spring/summer.
