Instructions for StudyMate Installation |
The file you download is named "StudyMateCampus.exe". Locate the file on your hard drive and double-click it to start the StudyMate installation program. During the installation process you will be asked to enter the name of the institution, the local support contact, and the installation password. NOTE: The password changes at the beginning of every fiscal year. You can begin using the installation password (below) for new installations of Respondus and/or StudyMate Author. For copies of Respondus or StudyMate Author that were previously installed, you will need to wait until after August 1, 2009 to enter the new activation password (The software will prompt users for the new password throughout the month of August during a "grace period"). For previously installed versions of Respondus and/or StudyMate Author, the new password will only work if the user is running the following versions (or higher): Respondus 3.5.4d (released 5/22/2008), StudyMate Author 2.0.4a (released 06/27/2008). The information must be entered EXACTLY as follows:
We recommend that you accept the default settings for where the program is installed. It's important to note that you are not able to download the software directly from the StudyMate website, nor are you able to use the password listed above to activate a copy previously downloaded from their site. NOTE: When publishing to WebCT, select WebCT 6.x/Vista 4.x as the Course Management System. |

Our license DOES permit you to install a copy of the StudyMate software on a home computer. However, please note that you are not permitted to provide the StudyMate software or the password information to anyone who is not affiliated with our institution. Such an action is a violation of our licensing agreement with Respondus and is also illegal. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity and that you find the StudyMate software useful. |

Context-sensitive help is available throughout the StudyMate program by pressing the F1 key. It is also available by selecting "Help" from the pull-down menu on the toolbar. You may download a copy of the StudyMate User Guide (in Word/WordPad format). Demo movies and screenshots of Respondus 3.5 and StudyMate 2.0 are available at the Respondus, Inc. Web site Respondus, Inc. has an online knowledgebase and ticket-based support system. The Respondus Test Bank Network contains ready-to-use test banks for the leading textbooks in higher education. The test banks are in Respondus format and can be downloaded using Respondus or StudyMate for FREE by instructors who adopt a participating textbook. If you have questions or problems using the StudyMate software, you should first consult the online help or StudyMate User Guide.
