Setting Up a Course Preview Page in WebCT

Create your Course Preview Page

  1. Create an html Web page.
  2. Note: If you place images on the page, or use external cascading style sheets, it is a good idea to keep them in the same folder as the html, so that when they are all uploaded to your Class Files/Public Files folder, the relative links will not be broken.

Select the Course Preview Page

  1. Login to WebCT and go into your course.
  2. In either the Build or Teach Tab, click on Manage Course.
  3. Click on Course Preview Page Setup.
  4. Click Browse for Course Preview Page.
  5. Select the Course Preview Page you would like to use.
    (It must be in your Class Files/Public Files folder. If you choose a file from My Computer, it will automatically be uploaded to your Public Files Folder.)
  6. Click OK.

Determine the URL for your Course Preview Page

  1. Within the Section, in the Build Tab, click on File Manager.
  2. Open the Public Files Folder.
  3. Click on the name of the course preview page to open it in a new window.
  4. In your browser menu, click View>Show Address Bar, or View>Navigation Toolbar.
  5. Select and Copy only the first part of the URL (through the file name) from the Address Bar. It will look something like this:
