CELT Learning Technology staff offer seminars, hands-on workshops, and individual consultation on a wide range of topics related to the effective use of technology in teaching and learning, including online course development, and support for WebCT for both on- and off-campus instruction.
Instructional Development Consultation
The CELT Instructional Development staff can assist with a wide range of questions
related to the effective use of technology in teaching and learning. Staff
expertise covers a wide variety of traditional and cutting edge technologies
for both face-to-face and distributed learning.
Workshops & Seminars
CELT, in partnership with ISU faculty and other campus support units, provides
a wide variety of seminars and hands-on workshops for the effective use of
technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Set up Your Own WebCT Online Course
WebCT is an integrated set of software tools that facilitates the creation
of sophisticated World Wide Web-based educational environments for both on-
and off-campus instruction.
Classroom "Clickers" Student Response System
TurningPoint is the standardized student response system at Iowa State University.
It integrates with Microsoft PowerPoint to create interactive presentations.
It allows instructors to engage student thinking and instantly collect,
evaluate and record student responses.
Electronic Portfolios
An electronic portfolio is a collection of electronic information for developing
or demonstrating competencies in a field of study. This may include
artifacts (documents, presentations, audio and/or video clips, graphics,
etc.) and reflections. CELT Learning Technologies can collaborate with you
and ITS programmers to help design, develop, and implement an electronic
portfolio system that is customized to the needs of your program.
Emerging Technologies
CELT staff are currently working with faculty at ISU and collaborating with
colleagues across the globe to research and develop effective practices for
teaching and learning with social networking technologies and virtual worlds.
