Getting Started
Instructor Resources
Adding Panopto to Your Canvas Course
To add the Panopto tool to your Canvas course:
- Open your Canvas course.
- Follow the steps in the ‘How do I manage Course Navigation links?‘ guide to enable the link for Panopto and create the Panopto course folder.
- Click Save.
Videos saved to the Panopto course folder will be automatically shared with students in the Canvas course.
Re-using Panopto Content From a Previous Course
To provide students with access to Panopto videos you have previously created:
- Add Panopto to your current Canvas course using the steps above.
- Navigate to the Panopto web portal to locate the videos you want to share.
- Move or copy the videos from the previous course folder to the folder associated with this course.
If the previous Canvas course has been concluded, you may need to reactivate yourself in the previous course before you can copy the videos.

Using Panopto in Your Canvas Course
To use the Panopto tool in your Canvas course, click on the Panopto link in your course navigation. There you will be able to access recordings your instructor has made available.
