You must submit a Course Creation Request for each semester that you plan to use Blackboard (Bb) Learn for teaching.
NOTE: Due to the large increase in processing-intensive activities (exams, uploads and downloads of large assignment files, etc.) in Bb Learn near the end of the semester, course creation requests will be queued and processed only between 3:00 and 6:00 a.m. each day. This action is required to help avoid system slowdowns during this period. Depending on the backlog of requests, creation of your Bb Learn course may take more than 24 hours. Full-time processing of course creation requests will be re-enabled Friday, May 10 at 5:00 p.m.
Four Options for Online Course Requests
Each semester that an existing Bb Learn course is taught, course instructors or builders must submit a Bb Course Request.
- There are several steps you MUST take BEFORE you submit a request to successfully copy a course from WebCT to Bb Learn.
- AFTER you have completed the necessary steps, you may submit your request.
All new [non-course] Special Projects must use Bb Community, which is designed specifically for non-course use.
Blackboard will be unavailable Thursday, May 16 at 5:00 p.m. – Friday, May 17 at 6:00 a.m.
This shutdown is necessary for installation of Bb Learn Service Pack 11.
You will not be able to submit Course Creation Requests during this period.
