Kelsey Smyth is the University Academic Advising Coordinator. As the Advising Coordinator she helps to provide workshops, training, and professional development to the ISU academic advising community. She also serves on several university committees focused on student success and retention.
Kelsey joined the CELT staff in August 2015. Previously she worked as an academic adviser in the College of Engineering at Iowa State University, the Academic Advising Center at the University of Central Arkansas, and the Honors College at Oklahoma State University. She is an active member of NACADA (the National Academic Advising Association), and has presented at numerous regional and national conferences. Kelsey is currently pursuing her doctorate in Higher Education Administration at Iowa State University, and has a master’s degree in College Student Personnel Services and Administration from the University of Central Arkansas. Her bachelor’s degree is from Oklahoma State University in Marketing.
