Holly Bender is the Associate Director of the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) where she leads the ISU faculty development programming, and directs the Preparing Future Faculty (PFF) and Graduate Student Teaching Certificate (GSTC) programs. She helps faculty, graduate students and post doctoral scholars improve their teaching practices in multiple ways including leading Team Based Learning (TBL) teaching and learning circles each semester and co-leading the TBL Faculty Learning Community. She is also on the leadership team of the cognitive tool, ThinkSpace, and an active member of the ThinkSpace faculty learning community. Holly is also on the national leadership team of the NSF funded Center for Integration of Research Teaching and Learning (CIRTL), a faculty leader of the Strengthening the Professorate program at ISU (SP@ISU) and on the science advisory board for the Responsible Communication of Science project. She is a professor in the Department of Veterinary Pathology and a clinical pathologist.
