Download the most recent version of TurningPoint
Click the "Download TurningPoint" button. You will be prompted to login with your ISU netID and password.
The file you download will be named either "PCTPsetup.exe" or "MacTPsetup.dmg".
Locate the file on your hard drive and double-click it to start the TurningPoint installation.
Attention: Instructors using TurningPoint with WebCT
Beginning at 10:00 a.m. 1/16/09, all students, who attempted to register their clicker device ID numbers in WebCT, were unable to complete the registration process.
A MANDATORY fix is now available for the clicker registration pages in WebCT courses, including a new version of TurningPoint for PC, which enables more efficient downloads of Participant Lists and offers advanced functionality.
The following steps MUST BE COMPLETED by instructor/designers of ALL WebCT courses that use clickers:
- In the Build tab, Course designers must delete the existing clicker registration page from their WebCT courses. Course designers must then add a new clicker registration link to their WebCT course. They can do so by using the Add Content Link option and selecting TurningPoint Keypad Register (be sure to select . . . TurningPoint Keypad Register, NOT . . . Entry).
- Instructors must inform students that ALL STUDENTS must re-register their clicker device ID numbers by accessing the newly created clicker registration links in WebCT. If a student is enrolled in more than one course that uses clickers, only one registration in one WebCT course is required. A global entry will be automatically created for all courses in which this student is enrolled.
- Instructors must uninstall their previous version of TurningPoint software, and install a new version of TurningPoint for PC on their computers in order to download new participant lists with increased speed and added functionality.
NOTE: Instructors, who ran a clicker polling session using the "Auto" mode after 10:00 a.m. January 16, 2009 and prior to completion of the above steps, and want to reconcile the polling results against newly created participant lists, please contact clickerhelp@iastate.edu. Step-by-step reconciliation instructions will be provided.
